What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install & configure a NUT server on UBUNTU
2. using upssched & a script to handle a 20 minutes timer before shutdown
2. test the overall system using both linux & windows (2003 & 2008R2)client
3. shutdown the main power on UPS for few minutes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Instead of waiting a clean FSC shutdown initiated by the NUT server after le
upssched delay, both of the Windows client shutdown soon.

The log let appear a battery low issue ...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Server side is : Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS & NUT core 2.4.3-1ubuntu3
Client side : Winnut 2.0.0.4a & Ubuntu (same as above on an other computer)

Please provide any additional information below.

here is the log of the 2008R2 server :

winnut doesn't recheck status after it restores connection to nut service

I have the following configuration: Win7 x64, UPS over COM port, NUT running as
a service, WinNUT configured to hibernate after 480 seconds.
For testing I simulated power outage, got system hibernated. I didn't restore
power but turned on my PC - system resumed. I found that NUT service isn't
running (don't know why, may be crash or anything else), after I restarted the
service I saw WinNUT restored connection, but I didn't check current UPS status
(it was still "on battery", I checked that with upsc tool).
I assume it should check the status, see that it's still on battery and start
count down again.
Also is there any setting to hibernate when battery low gows down to some level
(in percents)?
Thanks!

Can't find hibernate function.

I have installed a fresh install of winnut 2.0.0.3 on a windows 7 machine.
I am very keen on the hibernate functionality - but can't find any reference to
it in upsmon.conf - nor in the Winnutconfiguration tool. The only shutdown
types listed are "Forced" and "Normal".
The changelist lists the new hibernate function.
Please advise??

WinNUT says battery is low but UPS is fully charged.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Full charge UPS (Synology DSM reported battery 100% charged.)
2. Start WinNUT on the PC
3. WinNUT reports "battery is low"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I believe it should be reporting "UPS On Line" as the UPS is fully charged.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version of WinNUT (as of 07 february 2013) on windows 8.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
On other note, would be great if WinNUT have a system tray with UPS
notification.

No alert popups when WinNUT is run as a service (Windows 7)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In Win7, use WinNUT configuration tool to run as a service (automatic or
manual).
2. Apply and start WinNUT.
3. On the server with the UPS, stop and/or start the NUT daemon.
4. No alert popup messages are seen on the Win7 system.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In Win7, the standard installation location was selected. WinNUT run as an
application works as expected and alert popups are seen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Used WinNUT-2.0.0.4a-Installer.exe for Windows 7 (with all the latest updates).

Please provide any additional information below.
Disabled firewall (Windows 7 Firewall Control) and virus (Microsoft Security
Essentials) programs in case they were causing any issues/conflicts but the
behavior was the same.

Login listed as failed, but still monitors?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using NUT Plugin on OpenMediaVault
2. Remote monitoring enabled (username/password)
3. Start WinNUT client

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect to see no errors, however I get a login error - but still see
the UPS messages when testing the power (see below)

Level ALERT 03/30/2012 09:42:21 WinNUTUpsMon Service is starting to monitor
UPS
Level ERROR 03/30/2012 09:42:21 Can't login to UPS
[[email protected]]: Access denied
Level NOTICE 03/30/2012 09:42:41 UPS [email protected] on battery
Level NOTICE 03/30/2012 09:43:02 UPS [email protected] on line power

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

WinNUT-2.0.0.4a on Windows 7 SP1 (Ultimate)

Please provide any additional information below.

The NUT plugin on OMV does not specify "upsmon slave" in it's user file, and I
wonder if this is related?

Nice to see a system tray assurance that it is running

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Great tool - works well with Netgear readyNAS duo linked to APC UPS.
Only worry is if it is working - when I check logs I can see it is but a system
tray icon would be great.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Works as defined now.

Would like to have a system tray icon with green if working red if not and
click on for log / stats.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.0.4 on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.

Suggestion for improvement of a great utility.
I code but not system tray stuff - will help if I can.

Unable to use old-style MONITOR line without a username

What steps will reproduce the problem?
When trying to start WinNUT. Log shows error
"Unable to use old-style MONITOR line without a username"
"Convert it and add a username to upsd.users - see the documentation"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.0.4a/Win Server 2012 R2

Please provide any additional information below.
upsd.users file DOES NOT like password for winNUT monitor username set with
ASCII characters. Use alphanumeric passwords only or it will throw this error
code telling you that you don't have a username set when you really do.

Error 1060 starting service on Windows 7

I've installed Winnut 2.0.0.3 on Windows 7.
If I select "Install as service" then "Apply ad start Winnut" - I get the error:
Error: Failed to start Winnut Ups Monitor. Error#1060

If I uncheck "Install as service" - then the monitor seems to start OK - though
it doesn't seem to initialize the log file. I cannot find any log file in the
default location.

Shutting Down When Shouldnt

I have MINSUPPLIES=4 and have 5 UPS's specified 4 are real and one is a dummy.

If NOC-UPS-TEST hits LB while another X amount of UPS's is OB then the system
shuts down using the FINALDELAY=120 value.

Shouldn't the system stay online until the 4th UPS is on LB?
