YoutubeInsta-Downloader

First project uploaded to GitHub. Still trying to get the hang of it.

Purpose: Python script to download YouTube video/audio & Instagram reels using pytube & instaloader external library. Other updates will be added in the future (see Next Steps).

Ver 1.0 - Nov 18, 2023

  • YouTube video and audio only downloads working (youtubeModule)

Ver 1.1 - Dec 23, 2023

  • Instagram reel download functionality added (instagramModule)
  • Added new download directories for Youtube audio/video downloads

Ver 1.2 - Dec 27, 2023

  • A basic GUI using tkinter has been added. Will revamp in a later update
  • Exception handling added for unavailable Youtube/Instagram links

Ver 1.3 - Jan 14, 2023

  • Revamped GUI
  • Download directory selection added (Functional for Youtube only for now)
  • Added placeholder file for TwitterModule

Next Steps:

  • Progress bar
  • Add Twitter download function module
  • Create desktop application with GUI
