I have followed the instructions and installed TotalZip. I run Freecommander XE 64 with settings stored under the default program directory. For me, this is C:\Program Files\FreeCommander XE\Settings As I need the installation to be portable.
The install worked fine.
When I go to compress a file, I get the requestor window pop up and show the files to be compressed and then, it dissapears and no file is compressed.
I then did the same process and selected Create self extracting archive in the FreeCommander Pack files requestor window and tried again. This time, I got 2 files. a .7z zip file and a tiny 168kB .exe file. The archive seems valid, the .exe does not.
I then repeated this process without the self extracting option and, it worked and only created the .7z archive in my destination folder.
Happy the problem was now fixed, I closed down FreeCommander and re-opened it to ensure it was working.
Once again, I was unable to create an archive.
I had to then select SelfExtracting from the FreeCommander requestor and again create a working archive and useless .exe file before I was able to unselect the non-working self extracting creation and just make a .7z archive.
Are you able to help diagnose what is going wrong from this information?
Thanks for your time and for the plugin :-)
