Hello!

I have requested the app to be added to Transifex, just waiting for a sysadmin to check this pull request.

There has been a successful sync of the translations from Transifex! Some strings are missing, however there is a separate issue for that. Going to close this now.

@comradekingu IMO Weblate does look like a better option. I particularly like that the translators get credited within the Git commit. However most other Nextcloud apps/components are currently translated on Transifex, so I decided to use that so that translators who work on the rest of Nextcloud can contribute more easily.

@danth Will contact sysadmin of Nextcloud next week to pull the trigger (sync with Transifex). Everything looks good from my POV. Just added an issue to work on it. You will be surprised at the activities of the translation community.

@comradekingu Long time not read from you. Good to know you are still active and still voicing your concerns about Transifex. 😄

Transifex is enabled and sync job works, but push to your master branch fails as it is protected.
Either add nextcloud-bot as an admin or remove protection of the branch :)

@danth
Transifex is an only-as-a-service offering, and a closed source platform that spies on the user.
The functionality is a disaster.
Check out Weblate. :)

The quality of the stringbase and subsequent translations already does that.
The reason Nextcloud last I checked had started an effort to move to Weblate isn't because Transifex is better.
Stop believing in people and take away their freedom and the results are as predictable as always.
In stark contrast to this, the Nextcloud projects on Weblate are doing a lot better than even the core.
I think I said working with Transifex leads nowhere, which is also as true as always. In light of this misleading maintainers to believe otherwise years down the road grinds my gears.

true as always

You made my day 😆 .

btw. which nextcloud projects use weblate? I am curious.

Nobody said this.

and so on.
It foregoes mention that Transifex has lost all favour with its translators, and the trend is clearly for libre software projects to move away from there.
I certainly said it when I tried to help Nextcloud use Weblate. My position is affirmed. It keeps happening that people try to lead the way, and unfortunately nothing changes, while this will remain the case.
Transifex changed their gratis offering to only be valid for non-commercial libre software, contrary to their stated claims when closing the codebase.
Their policy of holding projects ransom over negotiating enterprise planning at their leisure also speaks volumes.
Even so, all the projects that moved have done much better as a result.
Transifex has also made their terms of service a lot worse, and harder to understand.
That is to say they had to change it following EU-GDPR, and you still have to be 18 years old to accept it.
Imagine where Nextcloud could have been without the insistency on working with Transifex.
