This is the line where the error code is located：

Before that, I print the shape of conv1d_weight:
shape: torch.Size([1536, 4]) is_contiguous: True

It seems that the shape of conv1d_weight is right, but the code still goes wrong. I really don't know why.

Comparison between Casual-Conv1d_Cuda and F.conv1d

Hi, I wonder how much faster can it be compared to using the built-in F.conv1d in pytorch after adding Casual-Conv1d_Cuda?
Because I want to try a larger convolution kernel, but causal_conv1d_fn doesn't seem to support it (it can only support up to 4 at most)

bare_metal_version is unassigned if CUDA_HOME is None.

Since this package may be a dependency of other packages (like Mamba-Chat), it might be good to give a clear error message that it is failing due to lack of CUDA availability. I didn't know when I installed Mamba-Chat that it would only work on Nvidia.

PyPi causal-conv1d 1.0.1 won't install, but git version does

I'm running the pip installs from the same terminal. 🤷‍♂️

installation failure when using pep517

this is due to the project not specifying it's build dependencies per PEP 517. This means that any tool that uses pep517 by default will fail to install this package. Eventually pep 517 will become the default for pip, so it would be best to get ahead of this sooner rather than later.

Cant install with command "pip install ."

it said that os.rename in setup.py line 220 only support same file system.
In my case:
The Wheel download in /tmp dir.
but, my code not in / filesystem.

Solution from stack overflow:
Changing os.rename to shutil.move.

Questions:

Kernel Size Limitation: I noticed that the kernel size is set to a maximum of 4. Could you provide insight into why this limitation exists? Is it due to storage efficiency, or are there compatibility issues with larger kernel sizes?
Data Type Support:
a. Currently, the code supports float32, bfloat16, and float16. Is there a plan to include support for float64 in the future?
b. Given that Mamba can work with complex weights, I was wondering if there is potential for the causal convolution to support complex kernels as well.

I use the nvcr base image: nvcr.io/nvidia/pytorch:23.06-py3.
