I never worked with anything AWS related, but my best guess is the following:
Maybe it's because the aws_profile gets lost on the way of re-encrypting the encrypted file?
Im pretty sure this is the case. The plugin complety decodes the file, presents you the content and then encodes it again from scratch if any changes were made.
I can think of 2 ways to work around this issue:
- set the profile as an environment variable (via #8) - however this is a global plugin configuration which may not be what you want
- set the profile in the
.sops.yamlconfig rather then the sopsed file (see getsops/sops#389)
from intellij-sops-plugin.
