paper-date-picker's Issues

OS X Strangeness Conversation from Material Repo

From other Repo angular/material#648

In terms of UX for your picker, I'll point out that if I wanted to set a date to 15th July 2030, I'd have to do an excess amount of scrolling in your implementation.

Care to explain what you mean? Just not sure what you mean, but you might have stumbled on a bug.

I've attach an image from Firefox - Chrome and Safari on OS X don't work.
How would I find January 2020 without scrolling through about 60 months? Even going three or four months in the future or past is tedious.

Silly Question : What should I do to get selected date value?

if I add this to . html

<paper-date-picker-dialog id="#startPicker" value="2000/1/1">
</paper-date-picker-dialog>

what should I do to get selected date? I try

$('#startPicker').attr( "value" );

but it only return the initial date set (2000/1/1). If I pick new date, it still 2000/1/1.

I know It must be a way to get this value (since no one complaint about it) but I just don't know how, I try to look at .fire but it only fire "selection-changed". It will be grateful if you could show me a way.

core-overlay-backdrop isn't removed on close

Hello,

I open the date picker dialog from within another dialog window.
If the date picker dialog is closed by clicking any button, the core-overlay-backdrop
still stays there and the complete site is blocked.

Polymer 1.0.*

bower is loading polymer master, but the last commit is too far in the past for
this to support polymer 1.0

Any chance this will get an upgrade soon?

Improvement on scrolling

Can I suggest an improvement on the scrolling of the component?
It would look nicer if any scrolling or swiping on the calendar showed only a month at a time or adding buttons to go back to the previous month and to go to the next month.
I found a css framework for React based on the Material Design and there is a datepicker included and hope you can consider implementing such improvement on your component: http://callemall.github.io/material-ui/#/components/date-picker

Thank you.
