URE 5.1 Patch Fix Causing Virus Program Errors

The newest patch released yesterday is causing major flags with Norton. Removes dll file and does not allow file to stay on computer when just unzipping. Multiple errors saying that file is very suspicious.

v2023.1.2.62 incompatible with 5.3

Seems like the latest release is incompatible with 5.3, although it is supposed to be compatible. I was able to succesfully install from DAZ into the UE5.3 folder.

Plugin not showing on macOS in Unreal Editor

I am using Unreal Editor 5.0.3 and 2022.1.17 release of the plugin

After installing the plugin from the embedded installer inside Daz File →Send to →Daz to Unreal, inside Unreal Editor it is not showing in the Plugins Window of the Unreal Editor. I have tried installing in both the project folder and Engine folder Plugins\DazToUnreal or Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\DazToUnreal.

5.2 Engine Source version using 5.2 import no reaction ·?

Exporting Pose & Animation to Unreal 5.3 crashes Unreal.

As the title suggests, exporting a figure works quite fine but whenever I send a pose or an animation to Unreal 5.3, UE will immediately crash. I'm using v2023.1.2.62, with the hotfix mentioned in the issue post:

I tried different workarounds with exporting the pose as an *.fbx and importing it into UE5.3 but the bones won't match for some reason with the original imported mesh so direct re-targeting doesn't seem possible.

To re-create the error, here's how I exactly did it:

I created a brand new project just with a landscape in UE5.3
I installed the daztounreal plugin 5.3 into the project folder.
The daztounreal plugin settings are default in the UE project settings.
I created and exported a 8.1 female model with no clothes to UE5.3 using unreal bridge.
Unreal imported the model correctly. No problems here.
I gave a simple pose to the exact same character in Daz
I sent the same character as a "Pose" with the default animation settings (such as "Use New Export", "Transfer face bones"... all unticked) in the daz to unreal bridge window. (changing these settings did nothing btw but I haven't tried all combinations)
Also "Export Morphs", "Bake Subdivision" and "Enable LOD" are unticked as well.
At the end of export even without switching to UE, a UE crash notice came up:

Error in version 2023 v1.2 to UE4

I'm using version 2023 v1.2 of the plugin (the version which currently installs via DazCentral). I am transferring to UE4.27.2.

I get this error after transfer :

The following bones are missing from the bind pose:
ik_foot_root  
ik_foot_l  
ik_foot_r  
ik_hand_root  
ik_hand_gun  
ik_hand_r  
ik_hand_l  

This can happen for bones that are not vert weighted. If they are not in the correct orientation after importing,
please set the "Use T0 as ref pose" option or add them to the bind pose and reimport the skeletal mesh. 

If I try to retarget the g8 figure, it becomes very distorted. Like this :

I have also noticed that the figure (before retargeting) is facing 90 degrees to the left instead of forward.

I have also tested this on my laptop (clean installs for daz studio and unreal), and I get the same result.

Visemes aren't included in the export and certain morphs stopped functioning

When exporting a character as a skeletal mesh and trying to include visemes on the morph list for exporting, they are not present inside of UE5.1. This worked fine in older version of the plugins.
Some morphs stopped working alltogether, like the combined blink, look up/down. They have to be individually added for each eye and only work by setting a value for each, instead of using the single slider that controls both.
Basic open face smiles also stopped functioning.

Daz to UE5 Crash

Reported to Daz Support - after a couple of go arounds they tell me that Daz Support does not support the Bridge plugin. Told me to got to the Daz github. Hope this is the right place. Here's where the issue stands

daz to ue bridge is crashing with the following exception -
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\QtCore4.dll" at 0033:0000000072293A64, QIODevice::isTextModeEnabled()+4 byte(s)
I am running the latest version of the bridge from David's site v5.0.1.101 (both the UE and DAZ side with manual installs) My gpus are rtx 3080s running latest nvidia studio driver (5.26.98 11/16/22)
After the crash the .dtu .fbx and .csv files are created but the .dtu is zero bytes and the .csv file has no data only headers. I'm attaching my test files. Can't send the .dtu because it's zero byte but I did open it in visual studio and it is empty.
second post- after the boilerplate reinstall suggestion.

I have installed the latest ,dll (dzunrealbridge.dll.v2022.2.18.23.zip)
and unreal parts of the plugin. I have done both a manual install and an install from within the popup in daz. Both types of install result in a failure as described (see original). I've done another complete reload and reinstall - same results as originally reported.
Update
Tried rolling back nvidia driver to previous versions - no help

Genesis 8 does not retarget well in UE5

I am not sure you can do anything about this. I have attempted to retarget some Unreal Marketplace animations to Genesis 8. The twist bones appear to prevent a proper retargeting. With the IK settings as provided in G8IKRig IK the ThighTwist bones (and the metatarsals) are locked. The animation is retargeted but one or other of the feet do not touch the floor. If I switch off the Lock on the ThighTwist, the feet reach their goal. But, of course, there is a horrible bend mind thigh. I interpret this as a bug in the Unreal Engine. Is it? If so, is there anything can be done to fix it.

Note: Because this does not work well, I attempted to use Genesis 9 which does not have twist bones and found a different problem with that which I also logged (the foot ik does not work).

[Feature Suggestion] List Which morphs are conflicting when double drivers are being exported

I just received a message when exporting from Daz Studio that I am exporting morphs that control other morphs I am also exporting, it then asks the user to disconnect ALL the morphs. Can you consider having it list which ones are in conflict? It would make it much faster for the user to solve.

Also, this might be a bug, After the message showing the conflict and asking the user to disconnect all their morphs is displayed, it then gave two options to Ignore or Abort and I chose Abort but it then proceeded with the rather lengthy export anyways.

[Feature request] Auto morph

Hello,

Would it be possible to have an 'auto morph' type feature (similar to 'auto JCM' where the exporter just finds and adds all morphs used automatically? This could potentially save a lot of export time and disk space when a lot of animations need to be exported.
Currently I use a list that includes all morphs, but it can take ages to export a single animation while only a handful of morphs might actually be used.

[Feature Request]: Ability to disable texture import

The texture import takes a very long time and oftentimes I am just tweaking things on the model in Daz Studio for re-export and the textures are already in Unreal from the original export. Would save a lot of time if there was an option to not export them or maybe better yet have it detect if the matching file names are already present in Unreal and if so skip them or pop up a dialogue that asks if the user wants to use the existing textures that are already in Unreal. Thank you for any consideration! :-)

Face deformation with the new skeleton of Genesis 8

This error started appearing with the new version. I worked with the previous version and everything worked perfectly.
Warps appear only in animations.
The error seems to be from the skeleton since I replaced it with the old one from another project that I have and it works fine, however in that case the arms are deformed.

without morph target, i moved face bones to make facial expressions.

they not represent in Ue4 editor.

i tested with arm pose, arm pose successfully show but face bones are not.

Are you going to create an update for the new 5.1 preview so it will be ready for the 5.1 launch that is coming soon? It will need code updates due to deprecated code in the current version.

Daz Crashes trying to export to Unreal

Daz Version - 4.20.0.17 Pro Edition (64bit)
DaztoUnreal Bridge Version - 2022.1.17
Unreal Engine - 5.0.3

Bridge installed via DazCentral
DaztoUnreal Plugin installed Via Settings window by selecting path to engine folder. I have also tried this same process with David Vodhanel's plugin version v5.0.1.83 from here > https://github.com/David-Vodhanel/DazToUnreal/releases

I created a new scene with nothing but the default Gen8.1 Male character (no props or clothing)
From the file menu >> Send To >> Daz To Unreal using the following settings:

Upon selecting Accept the plugin begins pre-processing, and that goes smooth.
After pre-processing is complete, the FBX export dialogue window appears

Leviathan Suit causing errors on import to unreal

Leviathan Suit for Genesis 8 Male(s) | Daz 3D

I have this added to a genesis 8.1 male character and upon import into unreal it errors out with: "Failed to find any bone hierarchy. Try disabling the "Import As Skeletal" option to import as a rigid mesh."

I noticed in Daz Studio the Leviathan suit ends up as a child of the main figure but then the suit has its own joint hierarchy childed under itself. Not sure if this is a problem or if there is a way to merge the two joint hierarchies together or if the issue is something else altogether.

Genesis 9 does not appear to have Foot IK

When I import a Genesis 8 model I end up with ik_foot_root, ik_foot_l and ik_foot_r. Subsequently I can copy a third person blueprint, update the CR_G8_BasicFootIK (which by default has the wrong bones in it... it has IK_foot_R etc... which does not compile). Then I can replace the Control Rig Class in the Control Rig node in the animation blueprint and my Genesis character will adjust its feet to slopes etc...

The Genesis 9 model looks like its supposed to work the same way in that there is a CR_G9_BasicFootIK (which also has the naming problem) BUT the Genesis 9 skeleton as imported through DazToUnreal does not have the ik-foot_l or ik_foot_r bones... it only has a ik_foot_root. Incidentally, it is also missing the ik_hand.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if I have done something wrong. The plugin contains a G8 skeleton which has those bones but it does not seem to have a G9 skeleton... instead it imports the G9 skeleton when you Send To\Daz To Unreal

A few JCM Morphs lost during transfer to UE

Reviewing the UE JCM Control Rig created by the DazToUnreal transfer I noted a few JCM’s were highlighted as missing.
Checking the associated Skeletal Mesh confirmed that in fact the JCM morphs did not exist.
Working backwards confirmed that the JCM morphs in question were present in the intermediate .dtu and .fbx files, as well as being present in the Morph Export list on the DAZ side. Lost in translation?

In DazStudio, create a new scene, add a Genesis8 character.
Invoke SendToUnreal, Choose Morphs, Add JCMs: Arms, Enable Auto JCM

UE Morph Targets import limit and re-import crash

Hello, I have encountered two problems. The first problem is when I have a Daz character such as G8.1M in Unreal Engine, and then I send the same characater to Unreal again to update it, to add more morphs, it crashes Unreal Engine every time for me.

The second problem is Unreal Engine only allows 100 Morph Targets to be imported every time. To add more, you have to import the same character with different morphs a second time, which is how I encountered the first problem. It is impossible to send a character with all the morphs you selected in the bridge plugin in one go if they exceed 100.

Is there a workaround for this currently? Thank you.

Genesis 8 to genesis 9 material suit does not import

Any time any Genesis 8 to genesis 9 material suit is used on genesis 9 it throws errors at me saying can’t import. no mesh found. Is there a fix for this coming soon. Btw I’m using UE 5.1 and 5.2 and 5.0 not 4.xx

Project packaged with DazToUnreal engine doesnt launch

I have a project with DazToUnreal plugin enabled. The plugin is placed under <project_path>/Plugins directory. I packed the game in Development mode and tried to launch it. But nothis happens and the log shows following error

I noticed the error Error: Unable to load plugin 'LiveLink'. Aborting. and tried to disable it as its not relevant to my project but since its used by DazToUnreal it can't be disabled.

Any way to remove this dependency to get the game working?

[Feature request] Allow configuration of DTU import settings

When a figure is imported via a dtu file passed over localhost, the import process will make adjustments to the figure root rotation.

It would be useful if this could be disabled so that already converted figures (e.g. DTL figures) can be imported. Currently, a DTL converted figure can be imported manually into UE with no issues. However, if a dtu file is created for the converted figure and is sent to UE, the figure appears in UE with the skeleton in the correct place, but the mesh is face down having been rotated 90 degrees forwards.

Regular (non aniblock) Animation doesn’t work in UE5/5.1

I import a non aniblock animation to UE5/5.1 and it doesn’t animate in UE5/5.1 editor or take recorder. I select include animations and still doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong? I need it to work in take recorder for CG animation. Should I run it in cinematic project instead of game project?

Getting distortion on import

Using Daz Studio Beta v4.20.1 with plugin version v2.0.2 and UE5 v5.0.2 with plugin v2.0.1b. I am getting this distortion in UE5 when importing Genesis 8 and 8.1 male. Thank you for any help!

Child SkMesh doesn't show morph target

In Daz theres some morph doesn't share with Base Body Mesh.
like cloth's own morph like length of skirt.

when they send to ue4, those morph doesn;t transfer

Hello. So I just installed this plugin for the first time and...I've got no idea what the issue is or could be.
I'm new to Unreal, I'm a novice in Daz. I don't even know if the issue is with the plugin itself or something else.

I did follow the steps written carefully however, followed a video tutorial too, step for step and the plugin worked for the guy.
Maybe it's the Unreal version? I'm using 5.2, the latest one.
