When you lookup a Twitter user's profile page in Tweetian, the profile has overlapping elements. This makes it pretty much impossible to look up that user's tweets.

Currently Tweetian supports (for preview and opening the image) two types of Flickr links, shortened and shortened:

• - http://flic.kr/p/{base-58-encoded-photo-id}
• - http://www.flickr.com/photos/{user-id}/{photo-id}/

Sometimes people share "unshortened" Flickr links without the "www.".

• - http://flickr.com/photos/{user-id}/{photo-id}/

It would be good to show these images in Tweetian too.

(I've seen these links coming from the Twitter for Android client, but I don't know if it just how the user pasted in the link. Anyway, they seem common enough, a rough estimate from Google searches (e.g.: site:twitter.com "http://www.flickr.com/photos") suggests:

• About 4,590,000 results for http://www.flickr.com/photos
• About 962,000 results for http://flic.kr/p
• About 654,000 results for http://flickr.com/photos

This suggests the www-less version is roughly 10.5% of the total.

When translating Finnish tweets I got:

If a free quota is used up, there's not much to do about it.

But perhaps Symbian/MeeGo versions could use different API keys, if they're not already.

(And maybe the error message could be replaced with something less cryptic.)

Noticed hour ago.
I can copy text FROM field, but can't paste it into it from another place, e.g. from SMS or notes.
Nokia C7 00, with all updates, if this does matter.

Looks like copy\paste properly works again, after rebooting.

It would be nice to see how many times a tweet has been favorited or retweeted.

I think it would be great if you could make tweetian compatible with other than Nokia's built-in browser like Opera Mini and Opera Mobile...

I have selected Opera Mobile to default but tweetian uses built-in browser.

When attaching a photo to tweet, i see a button below,[Service] that allows to change image destination(Twitter, twitPic,etc).
I think it will be good idea, add new option in settings, describing Tweetian behavior.
Something like this
Options > Main > Images

• Show "select" button with bottom bar
• Ask me everytime and hide "select" button with bar
• Choose service where pictures wil be uploaded to, AND show "select" button with bar
• Choose service where pictures wil be uploaded to, AND hide "select" button with bar

Select once and forget about it.

Let me first congratulate you on the awesome application tweetian. Its really great to have the native application with fluid performance. I have a suggestion for improving the user experience.

When opening Tweetian, it shows the unread tweets since last time of opening Tweetian. This is really good feature of staying at the tweet opened in the last session.

Assume that you opened Tweetian some 5-6 days ago and now you have some 300+ tweets which are to be read. So in order to visit the top of the tweets, the user needs to scroll the entire list which is painful. Consider that when not using the Tweetian, the user might have used some other means of visiting twitter on the web browser on desktop etc. so the 300+ tweets he has already visited.

It would be a great feature if the Tweetian can provide the option "Scroll to top" directly instead of scrolling until the top.

As for now, i can't even see, if more than one pic is attached to tweet. nor previews, nor links.

And tagging will help to save a tweet space.

there was some changes in twitter work (more characters to begin with) and the app still need improvement (multiple images embedded, twitter videos etc...)
piepmatz was a fine alternative but it is not free anymore.
If the project is unmaintained please change your readme.md

tweetian not connecting to streaming on my nokia 603. i tried all possible way but its not connecting to streaming. streaming is the best option in tweetian.

Sometimes, after exiting the app, the process will stuck on background although it appear as exited (not visible in task switcher). When try to launch again, the invoker will return status code "1" and the app is not launch. The process will need to kill first by typing "killall tweetian" in terminal before it can be launch again.

It seem this is cause by ListModel::sync(). When ListModel::sync() is called from WorkerScript, the WorkerScript's thread will be blocked by a QWaitCondition until the sync() is done on main thread. However, if the app is exit before the sync() is done, the main thread is destroyed and the thread in WorkerScript will be blocked forever by the QWaitCondition. This bug seem to be fixed in this commit but that is in Qt 5.

To reproduce:

• Click on the Tweetian icon.
• After the splash is finished and the main UI appear but before the tweets appear (when loading tweets from database), immediately close the app.
• Click on the Tweetian icon again, nothing will happens.
• Open terminal and type "ps | grep tweetian" and the Tweetian process is on background.

The issue is, when one has a lot of muted entries, when editing them, some of them get screened by the softkeyboard, emerging from the bottom.

The Instagram client used to use short URLs like http://instagr.am/p/B7Pde/ and Tweetian showed a preview and the image could be opened.

Now nearly all the URLs I see from the client are like http://instagram.com/p/B7Pde/ and no preview is shown. The only choice is to open the URL in the browser, and their webpages don't show properly in any of the three browsers on my phone.

Please could you add support for the new URL format? The old should be kept in case anyone still has the old client, or in case anyone shares an old URL.

Hello @dicksonleong , i have an bug issue, when i tapping on text field, between it and virtual keyboard appears unused blank space. In portrait mode this space appears too.

When I exit Tweetian, I have to wait 10-30 sec, to be able to access my phone.

Russian localisation contains some inaccuracies. Please open localisations at Transifex for editing to fix it.

It would be great to add Flickr as a service for uploading photos.

Especially as Flickr now has a popular iPhone app (see the spike on this cameraphone graph: http://www.flickr.com/cameras ), it'd be good to get more photos on Flickr from non-iPhones :)

I was looking at the French translation on the Symbian version of Tweetian. I saw some expressions which were not translated (see attachments). I go to Transifex to verify their translations but they were completed and correct.

Here are the attachments. Twwetian's language is supposed to be "French" :

"Retour" should be written instead of "Back".

"Quitter" should be written instead of "Exit".

"En réponse à" should be written instead of "In reply to" and "Réponse" should be written instead of "Reply". There are also encoding problems for arrows.

I will update the issue if I find other untranslated strings on Tweetian which are translated correctly on Transifex.

Hi,

I recently updated Tweetian on my Nokia 701 (FP2) to v1.8.3 after seeing the post on the All About Symbian website. I followed the instructions an uninstalled the previous version first. The installation of 1.8.3 seemed to go ok. I launched the application and the Sign into Twitter page was displayed. When I click on the Sign In button the phone makes an internet connection but I understand it should then launch a web browser to allow me to log into twitter so that a PIN can be generated. Instead the phone remains in Tweetian and simply issues a message "Server or connection error". All other internet based applications work fine so I definitely have a working internet connection.

I receive this message on both 3g and Wifi connections. Unfortunately this error means that Tweatian no longer works on my phone. I hope you can come up with a fix soon.

I usually have Tweetian running all the time, and keep up with the latest tweets.

Sometimes after the phone turns itself off (e.g. battery runs out or a random reboot), when I restart Tweetian it shows the tweets back from start of the last session, rather from near the end of the last session.

It would be nice if it could periodically save its position, the same way it does when exiting normally from within the application. Perhaps it could do this the same time it periodically updates tweets from the network.

I know it's easy to press the tab to skip to the most recent, and mark all read, but especially if some time has passed from exit to restart, then you would have to scroll back to see what you missed.
