brain.fm-desktop-client's Issues

Create icon in the menubar to manage the app

I thought about create an icon in the menu bar. When you click on it, it would show a menu with something like:

  • Home
    • Focus
    • Relax
    • Sleep
  • More music
    • Focus
      • Atmospheric focus
      • Beach focus
      • ...
    • Relax
      • Ambient music relax
      • ...
    • Sleep
      • Ambient music sleep
      • ...
  • Settings
    • ...

To do this job I think it's possible to use a lib to read the brain.fm HTML.

Closing window on Mac

Closing the window stops the audio immediately, but the app keeps running. And there is no way to open a new window.

I would suggest just hiding the window on close and reveal it when the dock icon is clicked.

Can't copypaste password username

Can't copy past account information in the login screen.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Download latest 0.1.2
  • Ensure logged out
  • Try to copy/paste username and password information into box

side bar : love the app! Was looking for something exactly like this! 👍

Password "paste" disabled

Paste is disabled when entering password into the desktop client. There is also no option to make the password visible. Both of these make it difficult to use password management tools like LastPass.

After entering my password incorrectly a handful of times, I had to change my password online to something simple to type, enter it into the desktop client, then change it back to my generated LastPass password.

Is there a reason paste is disabled? If not, please re-enable it? I gather this is a client-specific setting as I can paste into the brain.fm website.

New Website "my.brain.fm"

Hello,
first of thanks for this client. For me its super helpfull!
It seems like brain.fm is rolling out a new browser version of its player and also the old one has/had some playback issues in the last couple of days.
The new version "my.brain.fm" can actually already be started through the desktop client. It opens itself in a very neat new window. But its not possible to close the "old" one yet without closing brain.fm at all.

Unfortunatly I have no clue about programing but since its already working in a second window inside the desctop client it shouldnt be too complicated right?

It would be awesome to switch the client to this new version.

Thanks again for the work in this cline

Harfbuzz version too old

Can't run it on Ubuntu 20.04.

$ ./brainfm

Enhancement: Integration MPRIS on Linux

Thank you for this app, first and foremost.

In Linux, more specifically Pop!_OS 18.04 (Ubuntu 18.04 with some tinkering), I would love to see this app integrated with the music player indicator, meaning I would be able to play/pause it with keyboard shortcuts and through the GNOME notifications panel.

MPRIS allows for this in a standard way in Linux

Other Electron applications use or are preparing to use this interface, Museeks, Auryo, and Google Play Music Desktop Player UNOFFICIAL (source files)

Thank you for your time.

put icon to the tray when minimized on Windows

First off, thanks for this app, it's very useful

Because from the nature of this app, it will be running for a long time in a background, so the presence in the start bar is not needed most of the time. I think it could be beneficial to hide the app in the task bar.

Logout doesn't work correctly

When you click log out it doesn't bring you to the login screen, it doesn't navigate anywhere new in fact.
If I click log out again it states that I do not have access to this screen.

Closing the app and reopening brings you back to the login screen.
