Support

All documentation and instructions can be found over at diyhue.readthedocs.io

If you need help with diyHue you can get support from other users, aswell as the maintainer.

Slack JoinSlack SlackStatus

Use Slack for a general chat or fast live support.

However: Since Slack is faster at providing live Support but not as good when it comes to save and show known Issues, we kindly ask you to open a Topic at our Discourse group. This will provide Help for others in the future.

Discourse Discourse

Our Board might already have your fix and answer ready. Have a look!

General Note: Please provide some Logs to make it easier for all of us. Enable Debug by manually starting diyHue with additional --debug true argument.

Stability

Starting in Dec. 2020 we will introduce one Master and one Dev Branch. The Master will have the most stable code.

If you want to tinker and experiment you can try the dev Branch. Active development will take place here.

You want to get the latest features? Try the experimental Branch. Use at own Risk!

Please post on our Slack team any other device/application that you find to work with this emulator.

Contribute

diyHue is Opensource and maintained by volunteers in their free time. You are welcome to contribute and become a recognised member of the diyHue community. Feel free to add PR and Commits to our Dev Branch. If you are experienced in

  • Webdesign
  • Python
  • Arduino
  • Coding in general

We highly appreciate your support, making diyHue even better!

Support

diyHue is and will be Free to use. However it does take a lot of time to maintain the code etc etc.

Long story short.... you can support us at Ko-Fi

Having Trouble Understanding Docs

Hello, I am new to the diyHue project so forgive my ignorance here. But I have diyHue setup and working for my existing hue lights. I am now trying to configure my 2 feit RGB Tunable white bulbs to be connected to diyHue. I have checked the ESPHome section of the adding lights and I can even see that a feit bulb is used as an example. Unfortunately I cannot find the prerequisite information on how to actually apply any of the information on that page. The page details the information to be included in the config file but nowhere on where to put it. I'm also not sure where to get the information required for my bulb.

Can someone point out to me where this is documented?

Domoticz compatible, but not documented

My apologizes, I'm not deep enough into readTheDocs and github to do the job as a PR ...

I just want to highlight this solved issue : link

diyhue supports Domoticzs (& Jeedom), tested and approved but there is almost no documentation of it !
I guess an entry in this doc may help people to deal with "manual configuration" stuff.

I'm sure this feature is wished by 'some' other people like mine using the harmony hub that can be driven by Domoticz, but can't drive as it only knows Hue stuffs.

DiyHue and Home-assistant

Hello
i've checked for messages about howto integrate diyhue in Home-assistant, but i can't find a good explanation.
I tried it with the Hue addon in home-assistant but it doesn't discover DiyHue. Even adding it manualy it isn't working and i'm getting a error message in the configuration.yaml

Can somebody help me integrating DiyHue in Home-assistant?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Install on Host / Trouble with Port 80 and then 443 ;/

Hey there,
I'm pretty new to Linux so there is still missing some basic knowledge. sorry about that.
I'm already running deConz with the ZigBee module and pihole on my Raspberry Pi 2.
when I wanted to install diyHue on the host it always said:
"ERROR!! Port 80 already in use. Close the application that use this port and try again."

after figuring out I finally changed successfully the port of both, deconz and pihole, because both of them wanted to use port 80.

Then I run the install again and got another Error...
"ERROR!! Port 443 already in use. Close the application that use this port and try again."

can someone please help me out?
actually, I just want to install diyHue to being able to use the Philips HueSync Software for PC Ambilight.

appreciate any help in advance! :)
Greetings Br3b

Error in install script

Goodday,

I've tried to reinstall DiyHue through the easy_install script, but it returns syntaxerrors.

pi@raspberrypi:/opt $ rm --help
Gebruik: rm [OPTIE...] [BESTAND...]

Verwijdert de gegeven BESTAND(en).

-f, --force niet-bestaande argumenten negeren, geen vragen stellen
-i voor elke verwijdering om bevestiging vragen
-I voor het verwijderen van meer dan drie bestanden, of
bij recursieve verwijdering, om bevestiging vragen;
dit is minder beperkend dan '-i', maar biedt toch
bescherming tegen de meeste vergissingen
--interactive[=WANNEER] al dan niet om bevestiging vragen;
WANNEER kan zijn: 'never' (nooit), 'once' (-I),
of 'always' (-i); zonder WANNEER altijd vragen
--one-file-system bij recursief verwijderen, mappen overslaan die
zich op een ander bestandssysteem bevinden dan
het bijbehorende opdrachtregelargument
--no-preserve-root '/' niet speciaal behandelen
--preserve-root op '/' niet recursief werken (standaard)
-r, -R, --recursive mappen en hun inhoud recursief verwijderen
-d, --dir lege mappen verwijderen
