The cog on the stepper motor wobbles quite a bit, which isn't helping how smoothly it runs.

Some of the electronics came apart when we disassembled the Knitic. There were also some wires that looks as though they had slightly overheated (we have always had issues with the fan). huffeec has taken the electronics box and contents home with the aim of getting a understanding of the best configuration, and getting it all working again.

We have a neater RS power supply that can replace the old computer unit.
It needs wiring and an enclosure that can be fixed under the box of electronics.
(Or the whole box of electronics redesigning?)

We need an assortment of the 5mm acrylic parts cutting:

• Cogs
• Upper surface

So, in a rush to head home on Saturday, I kinda blew up the arduino (again) by connecting the power backwards.

I will bring a replacement Arduino in on Monday morning, and swap it with the blown one.

We have had a lot of problems with this, and there is a new version on the main thread - Mar has recommended updating

The upper surface has been cracked since the Knitic was first assembled.

It runs smoothest with acrylic yarn (sadly), so we should get some to run it on for MakeFest.

The laser-cut upper surface piece keeps snapping across the narrow part where the cut-out for the "mountain" part fits.

We suspect that it's caused by the stresses being focused in the sharp corner of the cut-out. Rounding off that corner might fix things, which will need modifications to both the laser-cut part and the 3d-printed "mountain"

To assist with the tradition referenced in #7 and generally make the machine more spectacular at fairs.

Having a row counter would make it easier to replicate successful hats
