I would like to have the ability to convert text this way (let's assume the name of the binary would be emoji-cli)

$ emoji-cli "Foo bar :smile:"
Foo bar 😀

or

$ echo "Foo bar :smile:" | emoji-cli
Foo bar 😀

It could be useful for piping the result of git log

Anything that will mention this will be OK

go run cmd/ghupdate/main.go -- emoji.go

https://github.com/github/gemoji only contains the Unicode emoji

so this project only uses the Unicode ones.

There are a lot of emojis that GitHub supports and that are not supported by current tool

People might expect to see them.

But these "emojis" supported by GitHub might have no reference, so won't be rendered, unless maybe with fonte awesome (if this leads to something, it would be in another issue)

That's why I think it should be documented

I'm unsure if they could be rendered via a font containing fontawesome.
