Shorter is a news reader for Ubuntu Touch (ubports.com)

Shorter was forked from Shorts reboot, which in turn was forked from Shorts

So you want to hack on Shorter? Awesome! Do the following:

Install https://github.com/bhdouglass/clickable

Connect your Ubuntu Touch device with an USB cable and then on the console execute

git clone https://github.com/doniks/shorter
cd shorter 
clickable

This should retrieve the source code, build it, install it on the device and run the application.

I'm happy to receive your contribution, just get in touch on github!

Doesn't support https

wrong configurated feeds make app to crash

Add a wrong feed (i. e. http://muylinux.com)
Check for updates
App crashes after a while because it can't acces the xml

PS: Correct feed in this case is http://www.muylinux.com/feed/

Cannot search for a feed

The only way is to enter the url of the feed. In the past there was a search feature, but I think it relied on a removed google api

Landscape mode not filling the whole screen

When in landscape, main column doesn't fill the screen, leaving blank the right column

Bringing back the Shorts-App

@ubports would like to bring the shorts app back as a preinstalled app on Ubuntu Touch.

Would you @doniks be interested to continue this apps development under the UBports umbrella?

arm64 and opml import

Hi I wanted to ask you if you could support arm64 architecture! And if you can add import of feeed does opml file. Thanks

Upgrade xenial 4.4

Upgrade to 4.4 not working
Just loops back to upgrade screen.
Tried to download from open-store.io
Will not download.

Doesnt support atom feeds

Images not pulled into feeds

Hi. The app does not pull images from rss feeds into app.

Also, when in night mode, the images that do appear in feeds are in negative format.

Feeds starting https gets messed up

Add a feed https://whatever shows as http://htps://whatever
