codestrap-programs's Issues

Follow up items for next meetup

  1. New tracks for software developers and hiring for current opportunities
  2. What certifications do apprentice-level devs need for our current opportunities? What other prerequisite?
  3. What will the apprenticeship pay? How long will it last?
  4. What is the opportunity after the apprenticeship? What will it pay and what is the decision-making process (qualification, right of refusal, etc)?
  5. Create a guide for employers looking to create apprenticeships. Focus on tooling and infra teams. Pyramid of knowledge.
  6. What are the State level requirements for creating apprenticeships? What kind of lawyer do I need?
  7. What are the government incentives for creating an apprenticeship?

Create a guide for employers

Start with Adobe's guide. List additional educators. Detail how they can create their own curriculum. Consider remote education and work opportunities. Consider building your own university.

Create better prerequisites and advice to people considering the program

I think we need to call out:

  • Typing skills
  • Reading skills
  • Computer skills
  • Math skills
  • Commitment and time management
We should have course links so people can gain these skills, and links to our discord channel.

I also think we need a way to offer advice to those considering starting the program. Some kind of test and/or interview process so we can evaluate candidates before they start the program. We are not trying to tell people they can't succeed, but we want to be able to give guidance on their likelihood of success.

Create new agile certification

Creates links to courses for agile, Jira and Confluence. Also provide links to certification exams. I believe Atlasssian offers these courses and certification directly.
