This is a problem with the terminal, but as a wrapper, diff-so-fancy could still filter out these codes to provide a more robust user experience.

The fixture vimrc.diff shows issues for:

• git diff --no-pager (cat)
• git diff ( ... | diff-so-fancy)
• git diff --patch
• git add --patch (screen will be screwed up until ^L after interactive is done)
  ^ This is the particularly annoying problem-context

EDIT: Possible solutions may conflict with other desires

• Scan for & sanitize specifically the escape code which produces this error
• Scan for a class of escape sequences which may present similar problems
