gnome-terminal's Issues

Set dracula theme on default profile appears not to work

Hi!

I am trying to install the Dracula theme on the default gnome-terminal profile given by a fresh Ubuntu install.
I am doing this because with a dotfiles installation i don't want to go into the preferences menu manually.

I tried this:

# get current default gnome-terminal profile
PROFILE_ID=$(gsettings get org.gnome.Terminal.ProfilesList default)
PROFILE_NAME=$(gsettings get org.gnome.Terminal.Legacy.Profile:/org/gnome/terminal/legacy/profiles:/$PROFILE_ID/ visible-name)

# set dracula theme on current gnome-terminal profile
cd  dracula/ && ./install.sh -s Dracula -p $PROFILE_NAME --install-dir-colors

This will return:
'Unnamed' is not a valid profile

How do I install the Dracula theme and activate it without going into gnome-terminal preferences?
Any help would be appreciated.

Install failed on fresh Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

I tired to install this on a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and I got a few errors. It seemed like dconf was complaining about extra slashes in the profile_path. I was able to fix this by using sed to chop off any trailing slashes. I'm not much of a bash guy so I'm not sure if this is ideal but it allowed me to install the theme. Additionally I was seeing "error: Failed to execute child process “dbus-launch” (No such file or directory)" pop up a couple times during the install and I was able to resolve this by installing dbus-x11. This was not listed in the INSTALL.md. I went ahead and made these changes and am submitting a pull request.

terminal config problem

Hi there,

Ran the install script on a new install of Fedora 35 today, and getting the following line when I launch a new terminal instance:

/usr/bin/cat: /home/usr-name/.dir_colors: Is a directory

Checked my .bashrc file for errors, but couldn't find anything related to this directory. Any thoughts about where this error might be coming from?

Cheers

Fedora 34 Gnome 40

Hello

Thank you for this great theme.

I can't get this to work on Fedora 34,
It appears that only some of the theme elements are configured.

I can provide more details if needed,
But for starters, I wanted to ask if this theme supports Fedora 34 with Gnome 40?

Thank you.

If you run as 'sudo' does not work

Why running as sudo does not affect the gnome terminal theme? I've trying to install it as sudo because of a requirement in my distro asking for permissions by default to run shell scripts.

But after giving permissions of executing, running as default user, it works perfectly.

No profile found

Fala pessoal ! (vi que vocês são BR então vai a pergunta em pt)

Eu tenho o fedora 28 e ao tentar instalar o tema eu recebo esta mensagem

No profile found
You need to create a new default profile to continue. Continue?
(YES to continue)

criei dois perfis e mesmo assim ele não foi :/

tentei usar o comando

sudo ./install.sh -s Dracula -p dracula (criei um perfil com esse nome)

também sem sucesso.

switch places of colors 2 and 6 and 10 and 14 in palette file

Hi,

I'm using GNOME Terminal 3.28.2. With the current palette file
msgcat --color=test gives me

image

so red is magenta and vice versa. I think it should it be the other way around, which is achieved by swapping lines 2 and 6 and 10 and 14 in the palettes file.

Color scheme is not good

I think something is wrong with color scheme for gnome terminal.
Because command output gives weird colors. For instance neofetc, git and so on...

I have installed zsh and using oh my zsh. Ubuntu logo is some pink color instead of white. Also color layout has no similarities with Xresources which I think should be the same.

I have manually changed colors in settings. But I think this is worth looking into.
