Take a look at the DKDrawablePath class. This class handles the Bezier Pen and has code to handle whether the path should be closed or not; by default it depends on the distance between the starting and ending points:
- (DKDrawablePathJoinResult)wouldJoin:(DKDrawablePath*)anotherPath tolerance:(CGFloat)tol
You can subclass DKDrawablePath and offer a tool that always closes a path. You could always override - (void)pathCreationLoopDidEnd and close the path there.
If you would like to submit a pull request for this – making the behaviour more configurable. That would be very welcome.
