Learnings:

• RxJava is not worth it. Ugly, too hard to reason about, all that effort just for network calls
• ViewModels are kind of cool, but a bit too magic, and sorely lacking documentation.
• Reactive State paradigm works for web when you don't have to write the filler code. But you do for android, feelsbadman.
