fe-patterns's Issues

TFoot Position

Hey guys,
first of all: Great idea to put all these correct tag combinations together–I totally agree with all of them, except the <table> markup.

Personally, I think that the <tfooter> on Line #88 should really come after the tbody. Of course, this can get quite annoying when you have really long tables. However you shouldn't have these hardcoded in HTML, rather dynamically generated.
Furthermore, I think that markup should, in a very limited way since it is still only markup, represent the presentational structure so the reader can still see where things might be placed in a graphical representation.
By putting the footer above the body, you might give it more weight. Usually a footer only holds references and additional notes, things you basically can live without. Having the tfooter before tbody feels kind of like "hey before you read that content, there is one more thing…"

One last thing: having the tfooter above tbody, isn't this a bit dangerous? Relying on useragent-stylesheets (or rendering engines themselves) to put the footer below the body? In the good old div-world, no one would think of putting their footer div above the content/main/… div.

So, semantically I think it makes more sense to put it below tbody

Looking forward to your comments :-) :octocat:
