AppImage build for geany with geany-plugins and geany color shemes
Geany keeps the list of active plugins in it's configuration file located at ~/.config/geany/geany.conf
. The problem is that the list of active plugins consists of absolute paths to corresponding .so
files which reside inside the AppImage and these paths become invalid when the app quits and its filesystem is unmounted.
Hello @ecmu, great work ๐
Here we have the Geany (for Linux) AppImage running on FreeBSD helloSystem:
Please note that some of the icons used by the application are missing in the screenshot. Those need to be bundled inside the AppImage as well.
Please Consider to upstream this to the Geany project.

Someone on Twitter is asking for a (separate) version with all available plugins so that they work out of the box without having to install anything.
Hi @ecmu
Possibly you would find this useful: linuxdeploy Build Helper Container. The container has linuxdeploy binaries for 3 different architectures, some linuxdeploy plugins, and as you can see from the README, allows to build more easily on mutiple arches in a GitHub workflow.
Could you also include geany-themes in the build?
Alternatively, they can be manually downloaded and placed in the ~/.config/geany/colorschemes/
directory.
