reaper-reableton-scripts's Issues

BUG : Global startup action crashes Reaper

In a clean session, if you create a track, record arm it and then delete it, it crashes reaper. I know this is from this global startup script because when I took it out of my sws global startup actions this didn't happen.

I only have active the automatically adjust grid, Automatically focus to MIDI editor and timestamp backups on, which is weird..

I'm on mac mojave 10.14

Bug(?): Automatically limit timestamp backup files

At this point it probably feels like I'm a ghost haunting you everyday with my inquiries hahaha

Hi

I'm having a problem (or maybe user error) with this feature, it doesn't seem to work with me. Yesterday it worked but not today idkw maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Here's a screencap to visualize it, basically it's not limiting my backups when I save the project. Am I doing this wrong? Is it because I'm using a secondary backup folder? I like to have in in the porject folder but separated in it's own "backup" section, but idk

I'd really appreciate knowing what I'm probably doing wrong. Thanks!

FR: ek_Global startup settings

It would be cool if we could set the zoom limit to a certain time frame for starters, optionally maybe? Because in a early empty project with say two items, it limits it to a really short zone so I can't zoom out so much and sometimes I like to zoom out a bit more to have a general view and work later on the timeline, I like the function but I'd like to have a bit more zoom out headroom, maybe not the extreme zoom by default but just a bit more of what the items limit to, like a handle, a 20 min handle size or something. I hope I'm making myself clear haha english is not my first language. Thanks!

FR: Zoom limit affects recording limit (duh)

Hi, it's me again hehe ๐Ÿ˜… I've been using your zoom limit with the offset and I find it quite useful so thanks for that BUT I've found a small inconvenience or nitpick per se.

If I start an empty project, simply to record something so I won't forget it or just to flesh it out I bump against the wall with the way it also limits recording, because well not only it zooms the view but also the length of where you can record so any time I try to record something it just stops right away, because of the view limit of course and it's an empty project so there's nothing to offset from. I have to draw an empty midi item far away so the offset doesn't cut off my recording.

I don't know if it would be possible to add an option or input box to insert a value, be it beats or hours:minutes:seconds where it respects that for an empty project and then when you're working on it and adding stuff, it uses the offset limit you added before to now limit everything. Or maybe not limit when recording? Idk which could be easier, any would work for me tbh.

So using this say I have a 10 beat intro so I have a 20 beat default recording pad with that option so I can record a few bars now (20) without it cutting of my recording time and then after I have items and what not well the other offset works on that so now the view is limited as it was already before.

I don't know if I'm being clear sorry, english is not my first language.

Hope it makes sense!

EDIT: weird, if I tried to capture the screen with LICEcap to show a clear example but the recording now doesn't stop, and when I'm not recording the screen it stops at bar 6 every time. Funny.

"Automatically limit zoom to size of project" changes project settings

Hi there, I've been having a weird symptom which I've now narrowed down to the Global Startup Action script, in particular the "Automatically limit zoom to size of project" feature. This is causing the v7 project setting "Limit project length" to turn on and reset to the length of the project (the time of the end of the last item) every time the transport is enabled, which results in some annoying side effects (like not being able to record a new item after the last item in some cases).

macOS 13.6.1 with REAPER 7.02 (but I've been having this issue since the v7 pre-releases, I only just now discovered the connection to your (otherwise wonderful) script.

To reproduce:

  • enable "Automatically limit zoom" in the global script
  • in project settings (assume there's at least one item), DISABLE the "limit project length" setting
  • play the project for a second
  • check the setting again -- it's been enabled and the length set to the end of the last item
