When elements are not the same height, the animation behaves funky. Elements are not displayed in the right position. With animation turned of it works as expected.

I'm also trying to find a solution, but any input is of course welcome.

Great script, unfortunatley it messes up rearrangement while dragging and can cause two element to be on top of each other. This is reproducable in the official demo.

When used with jQuery UI v1.12.1, there is still no animation.

It works great when the items are listed top down.

But need option for items that are listed horizontally (left-right)
