reverse-geocoder-for-geoevent's Introduction

reverse-geocoder-for-geoevent

The Reverse Geocoder Processor for ArcGIS GeoEvent Server is a sample processor that can be used to look up the nearest street address by using the GeoEvent's geometry and a Geocoding Service, such as the ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service.

The Reverse Geocoder Processor can be used in a GeoEvent Service to take the geometry of the incoming GeoEvent and reverse geocode it against a Geocoding Service to find the nearest street address within a user-defined radius. It appends the fields of the nearest address, if any, to the GeoEvent, generating a new GeoEvent Definition.

reverse-geocoder-for-geoevent's Issues

Will geocoding (not reverse) be implemented?

This processor looks pretty useful for reverse geocoding in GeoEvent Server. Is there a plan to release a non-reverse geocoding processor?

My use case is a data provider that sometimes gives us X and Y but sometimes not. When it doesn't, sometimes it gives us a place-name. If there were a geocoding processor, we could use it with that place-name.

Thanks in advance. If there's a better place to post this question, please say so.

Feature Request - Error Checking

Would it be possible to create some error checking that would allow a graceful error message/output if the processor can't reach the ESRI world geocode service?

Right now, if the geocode service is unavailable, that processor fails and all output fails. I would like to be able to still pass on the good data, and maybe have the geocode data be blank or have a graceful error output like "n/a" ..

Thanks for taking the time to look at this and see if it might be helpful to others.
