Install the xvfb package first:

sudo apt-get install xvfb

Copy configuration files:

sudo cp ./default/xvfb /etc/default/
sudo cp ./init/xvfb.conf /etc/init/
sudo ln -s /lib/init/upstart-job /etc/init.d/xvfb

service xvfb start
service xvfb status
