For extra protection, I want to upload the borg repository to a cloud provider. To minimize costs and avoid uploading broken repos, I want to be notified in case something went wrong.
For the ease of simplicity, these notifications should be send to my smartphone. Simplepush.io seems to be the best fit. It provides 100 end-to-end encrypted notifications per month for free.

For ease of simplicity, this stack currently relies on simplepush.io for push notifications (about backups). For data protection this should be replaced by a self-hosted ntfy server.

For extra protection, the borg repository should be uploaded to a cloud provider after the backup successfully finish.

The easiest way seems to use rclone to upload the whole repository once the nightly job succeeded. Therefore, the cloud provider needs to support it.

Shorter selection

1. Scaleway Glacier:

Cheap and simple pricing model. Company based in France. Although it has very bad reviews in terms of customer support and reliability.

2. uptobox:

Very cheap and simple pricing model. Company seems to be based in Dubai, no real imprint.

3. Backblaze B2:

Cheap and very well known storage provider. Restoration will cause extra charges.

4. IDrive E2

Cheap and simple pricing model. Very equal to Backblaze but a little cheaper and no restoration fee.
