A new version of Postman, i.e. 7.23.0 is available

Hi,

Postman is now version 7.36.0. I haven't seen any update on flathub.

Are things okay? I was trying to submit a manual update, but I don't have the permission.

Postman now provides detailed release notes which should be incorporated to the AppStream metadata.

Even after 3d46ac2, I still cannot install Postman either through my application manager "Pop!_Shop" or via command-line.

When installing or upgrading Postman, for every file inside the flatpak I get following message:

When trying to install Postman via Flatpak, I get a 403 Forbidden status back. Are you aware of any issues and what can I do to resolve it or work around it?

Postman seems to be proprietary but the appdata file says the project is Apache-2.0.

Steps to reproduce

• Open Authorization tab and fill out options to get an oauth2 access token with grant type "Authorization code with PKCE"
• Check the "Authorize using browser" checkbox
• Click "Get New Access Token" button
• The browser opens, authentication appears to succeed and redirects to https://oauth.pstmn.io/v1/callback

Expected: Postman opens the pop-up and gets token

Actual: It appears nothing happens. Postman keeps waiting for callback indefinitely or until I click "Cancel".

To get better error logs I tried opening a postman:// url using xdg-open from the terminal:

I think this worked earlier, but I didn't investigate enough to find out which version it possibly broke with.

Postman interceptor doesn't connect, I'm getting INTERCEPTOR DISCONNECTED

Chrome extension is connected, I checked troubleshooting tips and both manifest and executable are there.

Plus, running official version it connects at first try.

after installing Postman (through Gnome Software) I am not able to start it via desktop icon, which is missing.

Installed the latest version from the Ubuntu app store. Flathub website is returning 404 page not found.

Postman supports, as all Electron apps, hardware acceleration. I think, that device=dri permission should be enabled

The new Postman version (10) has been out for a while, but the flatpak didn't update. Is there anything blocking the update?

When adding a file to the body of a request, postman shows a warning:

The file resides outside the working directory. Collaborators might not have the same file path.

When performing the request, the file is not added (content-length is zero).

I think this is due to the sandboxing of flatpak. Additional permissions should be added.

Try to import/export a collection or environment, then select a symlink to a folder and try to open it to select a file within.

I am trying to update the Postman on my PopOs Linux, but I am receiving the following message on my terminal:

I googled this issue and found this topic stating that the issue is occurring because this package is out of date.

I've tried postman from flathub and it works very well. The only think I've found so far is that gnome-shell (Gnome 3.22.2 from debian stable) doesn't show the app icon. I think is because the 64x64 icon is missing

Its has been a while since the version 9.0.2 came out, is there any ETA?

issue : korean input is not working correctly (and I presume other non-latin languages like Chinese and Japanese to act the same)

how to reproduce : type in postman app using ibus-hangul input

I've tested the same thing on original tar.gz file from postman website, and Korean input is working fine there. Having difficulty with non-latin inputs seems to be a recurring issue on both flatpak and snap apps. The same problem used to happen on other apps I use like vscode and pycharm, but the problems there got resolved after some updates. I have no knowledge about packaging so can't be certain, but I think it has to do with dependencies included with containerized apps. Please check on this issue. Thanks

Is there any way this flatpak can track current versions more consistently?

Installed Postman with Flatpak on Ubuntu 22.04. When I'm trying to open the "Performance" tab in the "Run collection", the app crashes.

Installed Postman with Snap (10.16.3), and no crashes occurs. But I'd prefer to use a Flatpak version.
