You are attaching a new divider every time bind is invoked without ever removing it.

I recommend you one of the following possibilities:

  • attach the divider when the view holder is created, not when it's bound
  • create the divider when the view holder is created and use addTo() when it's bound (addTo() automatically removes it from the RecyclerView)
  • remove the divider before attaching a new one
  • remove the divider in onViewRecycled()

Each one of these solutions should solve your problem.
Remember that every time you call build() you create a NEW instance of the divider.
