Error 'path does not exist' on SFDX Create Project on mapped network drive (path with space) about salesforcedx-vscode HOT 8 CLOSED

It looks like the project is successfully created on disk and the error occurs when VS Code tries to open the folder.

I see two potential issues:

• Missing drive letter in path of error message window.
• Space in the path.

@frackham Can you quickly try a path without space in any of its segments?

Ok, tried same process and still failed in new directory where path has no space characters:

Still omits H: as part of drive path.

Tried in C:\sfdx instead, and worked(!).

Possibly due to H: being a mapped drive?

Network drive I think. Handled at arms length by our infrastructure team so can't be absolutely sure or confirm I'm afraid.

@guw - What do we need to do here to move things forward? Do you need more information from the customer? Is this a bug on our side or is this a bug on VS Code? Should we create an internal bug to track this?

For now, we are not going to support this scenario. Our recommendation is to not put your project on a network drive.
