civ2-ui-additions's Issues

[Feature] Toggle CD progress display

First a bit of a disclaimer: I haven't studied the source code, so I don't know whether this feature would be possible. If it's not possible and this is pointed out, I will close the issue.

This feature request is for a hotkey to toggle the CD progress display on and off.

I appreciate being able to see the current track timestamp, but I find it a bit distracting during gameplay. I'd prefer to be able to press a key and bring up the display when I want to see it, and press the key again to hide it.

Flagged by anivirus (McAfee)

When trying to move the latest stable release patch to my windows xp vm, McAfee detects the files as malware. Also, when trying to download the pre-releases firefox wouldn't download it because it detected the patch as malware too.

Here is a screenshot of the threat codes.

I know GitHub is a reputable site but i just want to be safe.
Hope this gets sorted out soon, have a nice day/night!

[Feature] Allow individual toggling of UIA features

Currently, all of the UI additions are bundled together under one toggle in the UI-Additions launcher. There is no way to pick and choose additions to use. Some players might appreciate more flexibility in which additions they'd like to play with.

To avoid cluttering the settings UI with a comprehensive set of UI additions toggles, perhaps the current "UIA Features" toggle could be converted to a collapsible list, collapsed by default. Users could still check the box to enable all of the features, or expand the menu for more granular control.

High Council

Thanks for the great Civ2 help! Just dusted off this classic today and thanks to your help, got everything running. Or just about everything...

Got the High Council to work fine when running civ2.exe (after using your Civilization-II-64-bit-Editbox-Patcher) with the CD in. However, when I play the game via Civ2UIALauncher.exe the Advisors --> High Council option doesn't do anything.

So, as is, I have to make a choice... play with the high council (one of my favorite parts of the game) or the UI additions. Would love to have both!

Thanks!

Kind regards,
David

[Future] Resize Windows

Initial video does not stretch
Window with the video Wonders of the World - it would be possible to increase x2 x4 .. or stretch the window in the game (while maintaining the proportion and size). The videos are too small.
Window View (city) - the image is stretched to full screen.
Throne room stretch full screen

Unable to Respond During Negotiations with AI

Hey there,

First off, this patch is amazing! Thanks for all your hard work!

I started a new game with this patch applied yesterday, and after a while I noticed that whenever I am negotiating with an AI, I am never taken to the dialog box titled "You Respond..." with options to ask for tribute, propose trades, etc. This happens whether the negotiation was initiated by myself or the AI. I have tried to do some debugging, but my Pascal-fu is weak and I am not familiar with the memory addresses used by the game (e.g. the WriteMemory call in C2PatchHostileAi). I am happy to help troubleshoot further; just let me know what you need.

The typical dialog path seems to be: Send Emissary -> "Greetings from..." -> [Standard threat/request for tech made by AI] -> "Pleased to speak to you..." -> [End Dialog]

Thanks!

Dye-Copper bug

Thank you very much for what you have done here.

It would be neat if you could apply the fix for the Dye-Copper bug from this program!

Fast piece slide no longer works

I upgraded from version 1.14.0.65 to the latest release (1.20.1.723) and the units move slowly regardless if I have the "Fast piece slide." option checked or not. I had it checked before upgrading.

I have tried closing and re-opening the game but no change.

City limit beyond 255

Hello,

Currently the game maxes out at 255 cities. This can be troublesome especially when playing on larger maps (thanks to this awesome utility). I was wondering if it was possible to add an option to increase the limit beyond 255.

Similarly, the maximum length of a city name I believe is 15 characters. Was also wondering if there could be an option to increase this as well.

To be honest I would love to create a pull request, but not really sure how to get started with this repo. The source files appear to be written in Delphi or Pascal? I haven't worked with Pascal since high school (many moons ago) but wouldn't mind brushing up as a fun, little side project. But again not really sure how to get started or which files to modify. Maybe a small contribution guide would be beneficial?

Thanks for this awesome utility; finding it has made my year!

Install error

First, you all are awesome for doing this! This is my favorite game of all time. I've hooked my son on it, too, and now trying to do a multiplayer game with him, but struggling.

I got the following error when I pressed Play:

Error: ReadProcessMemory: 5

Multiplayer not working

Couldn't get it to work but found your addition... which is fantastic. We were able to get farther, and both players see each other when setting up the game. Once we get through all the selections on race, build style, etc... the host computer says "Building World" and it just sits there. Nothing happens on the joining player side.

What am I doing wrong.
