dow-mod-manager's Issues

Possible Enhancement Suggestion

Hello Fragjacker,
Great work on creating the DoW Mod Manager however may I made a suggestion for how to improve the launcher. I'd like to see an option for " -noprecachemodels " be added as a checkbox, as well as the possibility of porting the "Reveal Random Races" patch from DoW Online since that can be pretty useful to see for creating game plans while it's loading. It'd also be great if you could add in the Mono Framework for those who play on Linux, since the rise of the Linux Handhelds is a vital step forward for us linux gamers.
Thanks and keep up the amazing work,
Uri-Yuan

Disable Fog not working.

The DIsable Fog tickbox has no effect on a friend of mine's installation. All other things seem to be functional.

I have reinstalled multiple times with admin privileges, tried reinstalling the base game, the mods, the mod manager, all to no effect.

I'd like to try and figure out what is causing it, if you can contact me on Discord at: Viceroy#2515

Error message to git without internet connection.

Mod Manager takes a while to establish its connection to git and times out if no internet connection is available. This alt-tabs you out of Dawn of War, if you're already running the application.

Mod Merger save button unselects last item

Description

When clicking the Save button in the mod merger all previously selected items are suddenly unselected. Eventhough this doesn't cause a crash it is potential unwanted behavior.

TODO

Fix that pressing the Save button should not affect item selection in the Mod Merger.

Audio Slider settings not being saved.

Hi!

Neon from Unification Discord here.

The mod manager (2.16) does not save audio volume settings, nor the “random sound” setting either.

The audio volumes can be set ingame using the game's own sliders and the game will remember it. But it will not be reflected when looking in the mod manager. And on seemingly random occasions the mod manager’s (default) volume settings will override the game’s settings.

Launching as admin does nothing. There are no lines for audio settings in the modmanager.ini or the local.ini, but that could be by design.

EDIT: 3 confirmed cases (including me), I think there has been one or two further back reported in Unification tech-support.

Error when clicking on settings

I've been getting this error when clicking on settings for the past year:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

✨New Feature: Open game folder button

As the user Roman on the Unification Discord requested I am not sure if this is the correct place, but it would be sick if Dow Mod Manager had a "Open game folder" button. Cheers!

Basically a button to open the location of the selected mod in a new browser window.

Error while merging

It does this automatically while merging, and I have to fix the .module file manually.

Merge button screws up mod load order

Merge button reverses the order of the mods in the merged module they should go.

The merge button needs to be removed from the menu by default and an option to add it in or just removed completely.

"Download Mod..." Causes Unhandled Exception

Details are appended, not sure what's actually going on here. Happens anytime the "Download Mod..." button is clicked. Doesn't actually crash the program, since you can just Continue.

Find MISSIN: Duplicate Mod

Issue:

Duplicate mod entry when selecting Find MISSIN button @IgorTheLight .

image

TODO:

Remove the duplicate Mod entry as there should be only a single entry shown in the window.

On-start autoupdate does not delete old executable anymore

Issue:

@IgorTheLight When pressing Update on the start up update dialogue the app never fires the webClient.DownloadFileCompleted += new AsyncCompletedEventHandler(Completed); event and thus the app does not close and remove itself, to start the newly downloaded version.

The update function from the AboutForm works just as intended.

TODO:

Fix the on start autoupdate function so that it properly removes the old app again.
