The server-side rendering of forms is a bit tricky. The code works on the data, but the code also needs to add ( to meta) the component that the UI uses, which the server cannot do. Therefore, we have to support some mechanism whereby the UI can fix up the for initialization, but we need to actually do the base initialization on the server, or the form won't pre-render at all.

So, I got a little sidetracked by the devguide work. The documentation thus gained a bit more priority than this.

The file upload example is much better now, and it led to a few additions/improvements/bug fixes on the file upload system.

I think for now I need to leave forms and come back to it. I'm going to close this issue for the time being and push a release of beta8.
