The text in the portfolio boxes (on the frontpage at least) is using the gkExcerpt() function which uses strip_tags().

That means, it's impossible to create a box looking like this: http://i.imgur.com/8Px6KTI.png
Imho that's bad.

Why not remove the strip_tags() and take margin-bottom away on the paragraphs in the the boxes, to leave more flexible options for the webmasters?

I was very impressed with GK Portfolio template on joomla.com, so I tried to install it on my personal web space. However, I could not make it work well with the template only installation. The images at the front page are not correctly displayed: http://student.uwmsois.com/joomla/ . Then, I tried with the quick start package and it works fine: http://student.uwmsois.com/mustreads/ . Unfortunately, I could not find any reason or any spot to change in the first case. Could you tell me what I should do to make it work?

Your Portfolio template is fantastic.

I have a problem, but maybe i'm just doing something wrong.

I've published three (3) modules in the bottom position, after selecting 3 “Bottom columns” in the template configuration (and i've changed the footer max-width in the css file). It only shows two of them side by side (see image capture).

How can i make the three modules appear side by side?

hi, I have a problem, my submenu text is 3-4 words lenght and are cutted. could I make the submenu space as big as the submenu text? see attached pic.

FANTASTIC Template -- im using it on my site (http://www.whisperingpinesphoto.net) and I love it, but I would really like to make the gallery pics on the home page active as a link to take them to light box (http://www.whisperingpinesphoto.net/pictures/event/animals?lightbox=1) such as this. I tried putting the image in the body of the story, and making that a link, but nothing happened.

Just a suggestion based on a project I think this would be perfect for. It would be great if the template can support a sidebar position built in and the ability to have either left or right on designated pages.

I am greatly satisfied with your template, but found one bug:
the menu (including submenus) disappears behind the content under some circumstances, this only seems to happen in combination with Phoca Gallery.

But I can't find any relevant informations in the module or the Phoca Help Team, it's considered to be a problem with the template.
Everything boils down to adjusting/setting the z-index, but I can't find the right file/line/position to add the relevant value.

Any support on this would be highly appreciated, thanks you for your work :)

1. How could i better hit the slides on the home page? I have used focagallery…
2. Why in the contact voice, if I active captcha, the component does not work? Captcha is not compatible with the template?
3. Portfolio free template is compatible with 3.5 Joomla version? It will be next? This is very important, I just received an update Joomla 3.5.
   Of course, the third and final question is the most important of all for me.

There seems to be two problems in the iPhone view of the Portfolio template.

As soon as more than one module is published in a single position, it “breaks” the responsive design:

Is there something that could be done to make it also looks good on a smart phone?

The other problem is related to the “search” and “top-menu” module positions. They show perfectly on an iPad, but they don't show at all on an iPhone:

Is there a possible solution to get them back on the iPhone?

Hi there, I'm using the portfolio template for Joomla and I'm wondering if it is possible to collapse the submenus of the mobile menu. It is not really an issue but would be very nice because with many sub and sub/sub menus the mobile menu is getting very looooong and confusing. Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Choosing a display of blog materials or feature articles on the page its shown block of 5 of them with an empty cell in the lower right corner of the page. The remaining 6th article from the block transfers to the next page. How to avoid the empty cell? Thanks

the share buttons within articles do not copy the link of the article? how can the link be added / the buttons themselves be removed? i cannot find a extension for them and can only remove the icons from the css and not the 'Share' and links themselves.

I have never bought a template from gavick so far however this template is really good and I can even buy it if there would be an advanced version of it.

I am going to use this template for a personal use however I have realized that on Firefox when there is subitem on menu item, its not coming up when you move your mouse on it. It is the same thing happening on the demo page of Gavick too! When I move my mouse to features tab for instance I cannot see subitems on that link. Could you please tell me why is this happening? Yesterday evening it was working fine but in the morning it crashed somehow.

Note: I have just tested its working well on chrome but not on Firefox.

What do I have to do, to change the url link for header/logo. Every other url works great, but header/logo link only displays the first part of the server. Can I change this via some settings or directly by code? I know how I could change this in html below, but I have no idea about php.

Everything was ok till Mozilla Firefox updated to version 52.0. Now when you open section with images (for example featured section in backend) first what is happening is only a few image thumbs are loaded but then it immediately dissapear and it looks like an empty page but when you are going trough with mouse pad cursor through page then the pictures one after other are coming back. Please test your template with Mozilla Firefox 52 and you see what it looks like: https://demo.gavick.com/joomla3/portfolio/ With any other browsers everything is ok also till Mozilla Firefox version 51 was ok.

Hi, how I make same page https://demo.gavick.com/joomla3/portfolio/ with 8 pictures and 8 sliding texts (for example), only set inactive text for entry click to article. This is in code: a class="item__summary" and How can I remove "a" from your template in this 8 texts (H2 texts and also classic text from article)? Is It Possible keep it this texts inactive? However, GK image show does not work. Maybe blog-style like at the Demo-Page would be nice. (but I know this is created with different posts, not as a gallery)

I'm looking for a possibility to present my photos. And this template was described as a template for photography and similar.

Hi there, just started experimenting with your incredibly clean and beautiful PORTFOLIO template for exactly that: a portfolio website for an artist. Just one (basic) thing I don´t understand: how do I get the gallery effect (all those photos neatly arranged with description texts sliding above them on mouse-over etc.) into the article/the page which is supposed to display the photos?

I've looked everywhere to see if anyone had that issue, but i couldn't find an answer.

It's impossible to publish content in the content_top or the content_bottom module positions, even when content is published in the component module.

There is something here i just can't get my hand on.

Seems there is a problem with dropdowns on tablets (iOs):

Touch or slide over the Features menu. The child menu drops down.

Touch or slide over the Joomla! menu. The child menu also drops down and the Features child menu remains on screen.

And so on if you have more menus with submenus.

The behaviour is NOT the same using a PC. The submenus disappear as normal. This behaviour only works on a touch screen device… Certainly iOS. This is all as shown on the screen shots posted earlier."

I have set a background image and it only appears on the default page (homepage) menu item.

When I choose any other menu item the background reverts to a plain colour, as set in the settings of the template.

I have checked the menu assignment and they are all checked.

How can I set my background image to be default across all pages?

My menu items are made up of EventGallery plugin pages.
