Hi Geekworm Team,
I have purchased the X728 V2.3 model. I wonder how I can deactivate the reboot on a button holddown duration of between 1-3 seconds (the button starts blinking). I have no use for that and I want the board to initiate shutdown after one single press and shut off after holding it for 7+ seconds.
With the adjustment of the scripts I can make my Raspberry Pi shutdown after a 1 second holddown, but the button starts blinking and the X728 does not power down.
The x728pwr.sh script is causing excessive log messages to be written to /var/log/syslog
It appears to check the power input level multiple times per second and writing a message to syslog each time.
This is terrible behavior in that it causes a tremendous amount of disk usage and also makes it next to impossible to view other syslog messages unrelated to the Geekworm product.
Please provide a method to disable logging and/or decrease the rate at which the script is polling for status.

Some RPi users may not logon their RPi with the pi account.
The installation script use /home/pi
, should be replaced with system variable $HOME
to facilitate more flexible.

rc.local file is still modified by this software as expected but the X728 power is cut ~6 s after the button is pressed to turn it on. The blue LED fades away quickly and turns off at the same time power is cut.
Curiously, the button can still be used to safely shutdown.
I'm on Raspbian OS 64 bit downloaded here https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/operating-systems/
I set up and installed software. Add the batteries and full charge. Then i left my pi to discharge and then plug it to recharge it. My pi is showing full charge led status. But, if i boot my pi and run x728bat.py it is showing wrong %. In my case, since it was empty, it is showing 2% charging and voltage 4.12v.
How can i fix this?
Also, is it possible to charge until 90%?

Hi Guys,
plz add to your documentation references on all x728 PINS and not just on Raspberry Pi's GPIO. I.e. from v2 the PIN33 (GPIO13) is replaced by the PIN37 (GPIO26), atm wiki doc jumps from x728 v1.3 to v2.1 and this code is the only place to find the gpio but still no information on PIN37.
A part this, x728 it's really good stuff!!!
FYI I had problem with RPi.GPIO python library on NON Raspberry PI SBC with Raspberry Pi compatibility PINs (I'm testing Odroid C2), so I decided to replace all python stuff with bash equivalent and merge everything in a single pwr script started from a systemd service file included in this script.
TODO: Buzzer is still not implemented yet. Then I don't have a Raspberry Pi to more test and Odroid C2 device become on production.
Hope to see in your python more support on web monitor side too.

i am trying to get the battery level via I2C using an external Arduino (ESP32 chip) instead of the RaspberryPi,
since his I2C port is already fully reserved by an HifiBerry hat.
I can't communicate with I2C between Arduino/ESP32 and X728,
I connected PIN3 to SDA, and PIN5 to SCL, and a common GND.
But the X728 is not detected by the ESP32 at any address
(i try to scan all addresses using this script: https://playground.arduino.cc/Main/I2cScanner/ )
The Arduino/ESP32 board uses a 3.3V logic level (like the raspberry pi),
and works well with other i2c sensors.
Am i doing something wrong ?
I tried with both board x728 v1.2 and v1.3
