Thanks for sharing this script.

I got an error about the & when executing this line:

time += float(os.popen('sox ' + i + ' -n stat |& head -2 | tail -1 | grep -o "[0-9.]+"').read().strip())*1e9

It seems on my machine (Ubuntu 22.04 on WSL) that's being executed by sh and it doesn't like it. I am not a python programmer but changed it to:

time += float(subprocess.Popen('sox ' + i + ' -n stat |& head -2 | tail -1 | grep -o "[0-9.]+"', shell=True, executable='/bin/bash', stdin=None, stdout=subprocess.PIPE).stdout.read().strip())*1e9

And it seems to work ok. It does hardcode bash which may not be what you want and I am sure there is probably a better way anyway.
