## Forking and transition of ownership
For [security reasons](https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/11/26/npm_repo_bitcoin_stealer/), Walmart does not transfer the ownership of our primary repos on Github or other platforms to other individuals/organizations. Further, we do not transfer ownership of packages for public package management systems.
If you would like to fork this package and continue development, you should choose a new name for the project and create your own packages, build automation, etc.
Please review the licensing terms of this project, which continue to be in effect even after decommission.
JS CONCEPTUALIZER
=================
JS Conceptualizer provides client-side Javascript that parses out concepts, particularly proper nouns, from HTML on a web page. Most of this logic is from the old Cruxlux.com bookmarklet and the remainder was tried in the wild at Kosmix (which was acquired by Walmart in May 2010).
CODE
----
The Javascript is broken into separate files by functionality, and you can combine them using your favorite asset system (bc.js is an example). The first step, identifying the portions of a page with the main content, is provided by zoner.js, site_rules_zoner.js, and site_rules.js (hard-coded rules based on CSS). CSS-selection is done by Sly (http://sly.digitarald.com, Copyright 2009 Harald Kirschner, MIT License), included here for convenience. The second step, of finding concepts within a block of text, is done by tagger.js. api_renderer.js can be used to insert icons next to parsed out concepts, either for dubgging or for end-user facing display if your application requires it. We also provide an extension harnesses to demonstrate how you can implement browser extensions that "conceptualize," within the extension_harnesses directory. The skeletal extension communicates with the page-level Javascript using events, particularly transport.js for networking.
