Exec path with spaces not working

If the Exec line of the created ".desktop" file contains spaces, the shortcut is not working.
Path and Icon are not affected by spaces.

Not working Example:

Desktop Entry]
Name=My Application
Version=1.3
Exec=python3 /home/my_user/my application v1.3/main.py
Path=/home/my_user/my application v1.3
Icon=/home/my_user/my application v1.3/some image.jpg
Type=Application
StartupNotify=true
Terminal=false
Categories=science

Proposed solution:

Desktop Entry]
Name=My Application
Version=1.3
Exec=python3 /home/my_user/my\ application\ v1.3/main.py
Path=/home/my_user/my application v1.3
Icon=/home/my_user/my application v1.3/some image.jpg
Type=Application
StartupNotify=true
Terminal=false
Categories=science

Only for Exec line, we need to add a backslash (\) before the spaces.

Dashboard creation without read permission

When creating a new shortcut, the generated ".desktop" files are being assigned as:
--wxr-xrwT
instead of the expected 750:
-rwxr-x---.

Occurring on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.
No exception are being caught during execution.
