Some familiarity working with common spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets would be useful.

In this five-course specialisation we are introduced to the most ubiquitous pieces of software used in workspaces around the world, commonly referred as Spreadsheets. Throughout the program, we learn how to design and manage sophisticated workbooks, extract and manage information from different sources and perform complex calculations through conditional logic. In addition to this, we learn how to manage and organise information in these large datsets efficiently including validating data and preventing errors. Finally, we learn how to forecast and model data along with the need to automate our tasks.

Curriculum

1. Excel Skills for Business Essentials

In this introductory lesson, we learn the essentials of Microsoft Excel. Using these skills we can expertly navigate the Excel user interface, perform basic calculations with formulas and functions, professionally format spreadsheets, and create visualizations of data through charts and graphs.

2. Excel Skills for Business: Intermediate I

In this next lesson, we expand our Excel knowledge to new horizons. We discover a whole range of skills and techniques that become a standard component of our everyday use of Excel. We build a solid layer of more advanced skills that we can use to manage large datasets and create meaningful reports. These key techniques and tools allow us to add a sophisticated layer of automation and efficiency to our everyday tasks in Excel.

3. Excel Skills for Business: Intermediate II

In this next lesson, we delve deeper into some of the most powerful features Excel has to offer. We check for and prevent errors in spreadsheets; Create powerful automation in spreadsheets; Apply advanced formulas and conditional logic to help make informed business decisions; and Create spreadsheets that help forecast and model data.

4. Excel Skills for Business Advanced

In this final lesson, we learn how to use advanced formula techniques and sophisticated lookups. We learn how to clean and prepare data for analysis, and learn how to work with dates and financial functions. We also have an indepth look at spreadsheet design and documentation. Finally, we learn how to build professional dashboards in Excel.
