The Freeside Student Resources list consists of multiple categories of professional and academic resources which are aimed at aiding University of Hull Computer Science students to gain further knowledge; however, most resources will be able to help learners from outside the university.

2. Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. FREE Microsoft licenses for Windows 10 and 11, Visual Studio and other Windows server operating systems, excludes Micresoft Office!

VMware IT Academy Program This is a similar program to the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, and allows you to obtain Software Products and Licensing for most of the VMware Products for FREE e.g. VMware Workstation, VMware vSphere, VMware Fusion. If you are a student of The Department of Computer science and Technology you would have been enrolled automatically. 6. Tails - A portable distribution that runs only in memory, for the ultimate privacy protection.

8. Raspberry Pi OS - For use with the range of Raspberry Pi single board computers. A great distribution if you're looking to get into programming (and don't mind spending a bit of money on the hardware to run it), especially involving Python or electronics (the Pis can come with GPIO pins for use with electronics). There are some beginner projects listed on the site but there are a lot of projects made by the Pi community.
