running the tele-scope() function with no flags fails at commit with the following error:

fatal: empty string is not a valid pathspec. please use . instead if you meant to match all paths

This is likely due to the commit command:
git commit $authflag "${authorstring}" $msgflag "${message}"
with no -m flag, this still passes an empty string, which git interprets as a path
Also double-check that the authorstring variable is set properly, or it will lead to the same error.
