The underlying cause for gluonhq/wave-app#148 is in WaveManager.processMessagePipe.
When the WebSocketConnection is closed for some reason, an IOException is generated. We keep listening on exceptions, as we don't want to stop listening in case we get an exception that is non-fatal.
However, IOException should be considered fatal for this pipe.

We need to stop listening, and for now this will lead to no more incoming messages being processed. A better approach is probably to re-establish the connection, but without information about why the IOException is thrown, this is not the best approach. A stacktrace should be printed, so that we can find out the reason for the IOException.
