On mobile there is also another option I am trying
You build without binding and run it as a background service exposed over http.

The GUI on the same phone can be anything and talks over http to the background service on the phone.

Saw a few others doing this.
You can make it use a tcp port that is based agreed based on a hash.

Perf is not as good but it also means you can built a suite of apps all using the same background service which is neat.

Looking around for service wrapper for Android and iOS to try this out with kitter.
