Sceneform without Camera session about sceneform-android-sdk HOT 12 CLOSED

Just updating this issue. We have put this feature into an upcoming release.

I can not give a more specific ETA other than to say the code is in our tree and will have to go through our internal release process to be released. 1.0 is the current version and this would be fixed in our next release.

We are aiming for release date in about a week. This is not set in stone, many things could possibly come up to change release timing.

Also support for loading .dae would be great to have. We could use same assets on both iOS as well as Android. I wanted to load 3 animation sequences covering full screen, but since the size of frames is large (1125x2436), decided to go with 3d assets. I tried using ViroCore for rendering .fbx models but they lack Orthographic camera for scenes, so was unable to use the 3d model. So SceneView + orthographic camera + .dae support would help a lot in decreasing app size by use of 3d assets instead of png sequences.

Thanks for checking out the Sceneform API. Sceneform 1.0 requires a ARCore Session. We are looking into a way to support this use case for an upcoming release.
