Types field was deprecated from feb 2016 and stops working in feb 2017, so it's not included in this client library. Thanks for raising this - we need to update the docs.

@stephenmcd that's not true. types is a valid optional parameter for the Place Autocomplete service. It has only been deprecated for Place Search service. I also checked the rest api without using the client and it returns the expected (cities) values.
