No, your not doing anything wrong.
I hadn't contemplated that someone would decorate a nested class and so hadn't tested what would happen. :-(
I have to do some work on wrapt this week because of another problem that has come up besides the ones you have come across, so will add them to the list. Thanks.

I don't remember specifically when I may have fixed this, but it doesn't error in version 1.9.0.
