Okay, thanks for letting me know.
The WeakFunctionProxy was something I was experimenting with as basis for a Django like signals mechanism. I never did finish working on the idea and so I likely didn't even check the scenario you are trying.

Just warning you that this is going to be a bit tricky to sort out. Getting the pure Python variant working is probably not too hard, but the C based versions of wrappers needs more work as it will need to be updated so as to allow it to be wrapped by a weakref. I need to investigate what I need to do for that.
