I'm happy to know that netbsd-drmgem works fine for you. But it won't be part of the next release (as you know, the netbsd-6 branch has already been cut).

I must admit that I'm not sure about the future of this project. It was meant as a temporary solution until proper DRM/GEM/KMS support made its way to NetBSD (kernel and userland), written by knowledgeable people (which I'm not). I haven't been able to make it work robustly on my hardware (see issues #2, #3, #4 and #5), and this led to some loss of interest.

Any help regarding the remaining issues is welcome (even a report of non-reproducibility of the issue, with dmesg and Xorg.log).

Gregoire, I've learned that NetBSD philosophy recommends adding code only when it works properly. If it were Linux, it would already be incorporated. Thanks god it is not and I understand your concerns.

Unfortunately I don't have more hardware to test the code. I also have an old i386 laptop (i915GM) in which everything also works perfectly.

I suppose there is no way to separate VGA output code from the LCD panel one, right? If so we could incorporate only the part that works and make decent X experience without outputting (which was crucial for my stay with NetBSD - if I couldn't hack the code and run X acceleration, I would need to move back to Linux).

Thanks for the help and sorry about disturbances.
Arthur

PS: If you are not knowledgeable people, I'll start to cry about my own situation.
