container-orchestration-comparison's Issues

Metrics on Kubernetes with Prometheus

This a nice overview. Thanks for making it.

Prometheus is not built-in as a running server, but service discovery and metrics are all exported by default. So when you start a Prometheus inside a Kubernetes cluster with a "this is a kubernetes cluster"-option, you will see that it will gather plenty of metrics by default.
So it feels very smooth and almost as if it was completely built-in. That is definitely worth mentioning.
It is also very easy to activate service discovery for the prometheus metrics of the software you deploy to the cluster. Just add a specific annotation to the pods, done.

Add Kontena

Kontena is an open source container orchestration platform. It contains built-in networking, service discovery, secret management and load balancing etc. You can define stacks in YAML file (similar to Docker Compose).

Add Rancher

I'd suggest including http://rancher.com/ in your research. It's open source and free to try. It also allows you to use different orchestration platforms if you so choose.

Multiplatform support

I'd like to see multiplatform support on here, with the advent of Windows containers. We have a mixed-mode environment and it's been hard to find a framework that works.

AFAIK Docker Swarm Mode is the only thing that officially supports Windows containers. All other implementations appear to be in some form of experimental state or nonexistent, but I'd like to be able to keep track of that.

Trying to contact you

Hi, we've covered container orchestration topics in-depth at http://thenewstack.io. Would you be interested in taking part of this comparison and either writing an article for us or talking to us on a podcast episode?

ECS

Hey @KaivoAnastetiks. Thanks for this! The chart is missing a big one: ECS.
