resources's Issues

Readme Discussion

  1. @mrcoven94 @frankcash Github doesn't have UMLs in their MD right? That may look good, I feel as if links may be necessary, just so its easier for people to find (when there are many more files)
  2. Where should we host a site if we plan on hosting one?

Create Script to Check Links

#54 brought it to our attention that we should have a script to check status of the links.

I'd like to use a specific programming language and check the links as a unit test measure.
The scripts needs to be:

  • asynchronous in one manner
  • run as unit tests
  • ran through a code linter
  • use a minimal amount of packages

Landing Page

Self explanatory, need one.

Discussion and eventual creation about it should be added here. Until this issue is closed if you mess with the landing page please include (#20) in your commits so we go to this issue and click on all corresponding commits (basic Git functionality).

Complete Web Scraping

Web Scraping quite lacking. It should include some of the following

  • Information about robots.txt
  • Writing a useful crawler
  • Where to start
  • How to use the information
  • Sample crawler in multiple languages for demonstration

File Structure

I feel like a file structure that is something like

          iOS.md
          Android.md
     Web Dev/
          front-end.md

Should we condone open-source utilities before proprietary ones?

I think we should condone open-source utilities. Like I told a friend once friends don't let friends use proprietary tools.

I was reading through one of the guides and it recommended Sublime Text and I thought to myself not only is there an open-source alternative but there are better open-source alternatives. I can understand recommending a proprietary tool if there is no open-source alternative.
