I am very nuew to this topic, but I was wondering what could be the difference of performing correction error sequentially (first Vechat and then Canu, or viceversa), instead of correction separately and then merging (as your propose)? What is the benefit of correcting and merging?

Hi all, I'm wondering how we're supposed to guess the genome size? I am working with fastq files so do not have the benefit of using assembly data to get the genome size. I've tried to run metabooster twice with guesses but it does not seem to be working (keep getting errors regarding the genome size). Any tips?
